Theresa Washam
Tess is the Assistant Teacher in the Toddler Room. She is originally from Nebraska. She has also lived in Iowa and now Florida. Tess first began teaching in 1987 at a rural, 1 room schoolhouse, where they taught Kindergarten through 8th grade. She attended the University of Nebraska and the University of Northern Iowa. She specialized in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Development and Early Childhood Special Education.
Tess’ top teaching moment is everytime a child learns something new to them. The part of the Montessori curriculum that she finds most exciting is guiding the children toward independent learning.
Ms. Tess is married and has 4 adult children. She enjoys spending time outdoors and she is very nature oriented. The country that she would most like to visit is Ireland.
