Warm, nurturing spaces where children explore new interests, build problem-solving skills, and grow alongside peers in supportive environments that feel like natural extensions of their Montessori day.

About Our Montessori Enrichment Programs

Will your child thrive with more chances to explore, create, and grow? Will they light up when given space to follow what genuinely interests them? These questions guide so many parents as they think about what their child needs beyond academics, and we understand how much these afternoon hours matter.

Our enrichment programs bring extra warmth and discovery to afternoons at Palm Harbor Montessori Academy, giving children joyful spaces to follow their curiosity beyond the regular school day. These after-school activities complement Montessori education beautifully through hands-on learning, movement, creativity, and real-world experiences that help children develop in every direction.

What surrounds children shapes them, and the environments we create during these formative years affect their developing brains and sense of self. Each program gently extends what students learn in the Montessori classroom, offering meaningful ways to support the whole child while building confidence through exploration that feels like play.

From 12 Months to 14 Years: Development Support For Every Stage

Our enrichment programs bring an extra layer of warmth, creativity, and discovery to your child's day, offering thoughtfully chosen classes that beautifully complement Montessori learning. Each activity invites children to explore the world in a hands-on, meaningful way through movement, music, art, teamwork, problem-solving, and joyful self-expression.

Research shows that children who learn in mixed-age, supportive environments tend to show more kindness and cooperation, with social benefits that persist even years later. These experiences help students deepen their confidence, follow their interests, and grow into curious, capable learners who feel excited about trying new things. You will see it in the way your child talks about their afternoon, eager to share what they created, discovered, or accomplished.

Our Montessori Enrichment After-School Activities

Spanish

Our Spanish program helps children develop language skills through immersive experiences that feel natural and engaging. Students learn vocabulary, practice conversation, and discover cultural traditions while building connections between language and movement. Dr. Maria Montessori recognized that children pass through sensitive periods for learning, and language acquisition represents one of the most powerful windows of opportunity during early childhood. There is something magical about watching a child absorb a new language with the ease that only young minds possess.

Fine Arts

Through painting, drawing, and creative projects, children practice fine motor skills, self-expression, and artistic confidence while exploring different types of media. This enrichment activity helps children observe details, develop coordination, and strengthen the small hand muscles that support early writing. But beyond the physical benefits, art offers children a voice before they have all the words. You might be surprised by what your child expresses when given brushes, colors, and the freedom to create.

Performing Arts

Our Performing Arts program invites students to explore storytelling, drama, and stage presence in supportive settings. Children learn to express emotions, collaborate with peers, and build confidence as they participate in performances that teach teamwork and creative problem-solving. When children have meaningful choices in real-world projects, they feel more capable, engaged, and confident as learners. Performing arts strengthens both their sense of identity and their ability to work with others toward a shared goal.

Music

Music classes blend rhythm, melody, and movement to help children develop coordination, memory, and listening skills. Students learn about instruments, create their own sounds, and discover how music connects people across cultures. There is something profound about watching a child find their rhythm, whether banging a drum with joyful abandon or carefully picking out notes on a xylophone. Music nurtures a kind of curiosity and connection that extends far beyond the classroom.

Physical Education

Physical Education keeps children active while teaching them about healthy habits, sportsmanship, and body awareness. Through games, sports, and movement challenges, children develop gross motor skills, learn teamwork, and discover the joy of staying active. Research shows that children who participate in comprehensive early childhood programs have better long-term health outcomes, including lower risk for obesity and associated health factors. But more immediately, you will see your child come home tired in the best way, having moved their body and burned energy alongside friends.

Gardening

Our Gardening program connects children with nature through hands-on experiences that teach patience, responsibility, and environmental awareness. Students plant seeds, tend to growing things, observe life cycles, and explore where food comes from while developing practical life skills. This hands-on approach reflects Maria Montessori's belief that children possess an innate curiosity and love for learning, taking them on a "journey of discovery" through meaningful work.

My daughter is not a student of the school. She just started her first week at the camp, and she is happy about how everything is working for her and her friends. The environment is safe, the program is rich and fun. As a parent, I am very thankful to her teacher for being kind and caring and creating a really nice and warm atmosphere in the classroom. The school administrators are highly responsive and helpful. This is a great experience so far, and we all expect our child to have a great summer there.

A Remarkable School That Has Shaped Our Children’s Lives Palm Harbor Montessori Academy has been an extraordinary place for our family, a school that blends Montessori academic excellence with a deep commitment to nurturing the whole child. Over the past five years, both of our children have been fortunate to learn and grow in an environment that emphasizes independence, respect, and curiosity. The teachers are truly exceptional, not just educators, but mentors and champions who see each student as an individual. Their dedication, compassion, and consistency have given our children the confidence and support they needed to thrive. Most recently, we had a sensitive discussion about retaining our eldest for an additional year. The grace, thoughtfulness, and care with which the school approached this decision underscored everything we already believed about PHMA: they always put the child first. The curriculum encourages critical thinking and self-motivation, and the learning environment is calm, purposeful, and joyful. We’ve watched our children become not only stronger students but kinder humans, and that’s due in large part to the values modeled and reinforced here every day. Palm Harbor Montessori Academy has been more than just a school; it has been a village, a home, and a foundation for our kids’ futures. We cannot recommend Palm Harbor Montessori Academy highly enough. If you are looking for a place where your child will be seen, heard, and truly cared for, this is it.

We are incredibly grateful for the amazing experience our son has had at PHMA, especially with his teacher, Ms. Yenny. We’ve had the joy of having her as his teacher for three years, first in the pre-primary program and now in primary, and it’s been such a gift. Every morning, she greets our son with the biggest hug and warmest smile, creating a safe, loving environment that he absolutely thrives in. Ms. Yenny is so patient and attentive, always taking the time to listen to his stories, encourage friendships, and truly connect with the children at their level. She brings joy to the classroom, laughing and learning alongside them, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about each child’s growth. Thanks to the Montessori approach and Ms. Yenny’s nurturing guidance, our son has blossomed. He’s become a confident, kind, and independent little boy who loves playing both on his own and with friends. In just the past year, we’ve seen his skills take off, from writing his name and counting to 100, to learning math concepts and even facts about different countries. It’s been incredible to witness. PHMA and Ms. Yenny have created an environment where children feel loved, supported, and inspired to grow. We truly can’t thank them enough!
