1. Where are you from? I am originally from Canada

2. What year did you begin teaching? I began teaching in 1994.

3. Where did you go to school? I went to school at Our Lady of Good Counsel, University of Toronto, Medaille College, Foundation for Montessori Education – Association Montessori International

4. What degrees/certifications do you hold? I have a Bachelor of Science, AMI certificate, Masters of Science of Education. Early Childhood Credentials.

5. Describe a “top” teaching moment. I have them everyday. From being kind to each other, to grace and courtesy, to the collective exercises, such as division.

6. What part of the Montessori curriculum do you find most exciting/effective? The Language curriculum is very effective and exciting to watch the children do with all the lessons and materials: especially with a child sounds out his or her first three letter phonetic word. The sand paper letters re very effective material for learning the letter sounds. Another favorite material is the geometric solids in Sensorial. The child actually feels what a cone is, for example, instead of seeing a picture of it as is the norm in traditional school.

7. Tell us about your family/hobbies. I have two wonderful children. My hobbies are reading, biking, swimming, and baking.

8. What country have you never visited but would like to. I would love to visit Turkey, England, Switzerland
